La Neuve - The Spaniards from Pocklington who liberated Paris

This is an intriguing story of Spanish Republicans who as part of the Free French congregated in the East Riding of Yorkshire and in Pocklington prior to the D-Day landings of 1944. This talk was given by the Pocklington and District Local History Group Chairman Phil Gilbank in Thixendale in October 2019. Since giving the talk, the last survivor of La Neuve, Ralph Gomez, has sadly passed away due to CoronaVirus.
