| An old Town Guide has the following quotation about Rowley's. "In London Street is the well-fitted up-to-date model factory of Messrs. Charles Rowley Limited, the manufacturers of the celebrated 'Wold Brand Clothing.' This factory was established a few years ago as an experiment in promoting rural industries and assisting to prevent the influx of workers to the more crowded areas, and at the present time a large number of male and female workers are happily and busily engaged in the manufacture of high class Men's, Youth's, and Boys' clothing for the principal London and Provincial Clothing Houses under the most approved hygenic conditions. The Company have offices and resident representatives in London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Belfast, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, and the business is rapidly growing under the able management of Mr. Charles Rowley, the Founder and Managing Director." |
