Edwin (Ted) and Nora (née Stainton) married at North Somercotes, Louth on 8th June 1904, Edwin is recorded on the marriage as Traveller living at Pocklington. (Christine thinks her Nan was helping her relative who lived next to The Drill Hall as Bessie/Betty/Lizzie had quite a few children). Edwin and Nora’s first daughter Leila was born 4th May 1907 birth registered the family living at 13 Victoria Terrace, Pocklington. Edwin and Nora’s second daughter Vivienne (Christine's mother) was born 2nd June 1920 birth registered with the family living at Market Place, Pocklington and Edwin is now registered as Master Confectioner. The shop was next to the jewellers Gilson where Danby's newsagent is today. The family left Pocklington when Vivienne was 7. Edwin was brother to Atkinson Skinner the headmaster of Pocklington Church of England School. Information kindly provided by Christine Wilton granddaughter of Edwin and Nora.

Edwin Skinner's confectionery shop was in Market Place where Danby's newsagents are today.
It seems to only have existed between 1913 - 27.
